A question is a statement which demands a response or an answer. Every day, you are able to inquire about questions. Before you decide to answer a question, be sure you're clear in your mind what the question is. There is no harm in finding out the reason for the question being asked. Ask politely "I am sorry, I do not seem to know what you're trying to say Do you mind rephrasing?" It is easier to communicate when you do this instead of talking in a rambling manner with no sense of clarity and understanding. Be aware that the main purpose of answering questions is to contribute positively to the one who is trying to find an answer. Don't waste your time. Seek understanding first.

Another way to boost the effectiveness of answering a question in a relevant and objective way is to ensure that you give the person asking you the question to finish asking. Many people will take the time to elaborate on what they are seeking. Being able to answer a problem before it is asked in full may appear insensitive. It is not a good idea to assume you know the direction the query is heading and thus you would like to assist the person find the answer. If you're in a hurry then let the individual "ramble" while taking notes of important elements. It gives you time to synthesize and think of how to best respond to the question. The ability to listen provides you a high percentage of success in your responses to questions.

You have to determine if you're qualified to answer this question , or if someone else is.
