One way to improve your ability to answer any question in an appropriate and objective way is if you give the person posing you the question to finish asking. A few people take time to specify exactly what they want to know. When you respond to a question without knowing what has been fully addressed may be irresponsible. Do not assume that you know the direction that the question is headed and wish to help the person get straight to the point. If you're short on time allow the person to "ramble" while you take note of key things. It also gives you time to synthesize and think of how to best respond to the question. The ability to listen provides the highest success rate in your responses to questions.
