An answer is a word asking for a answer or an answer. On a regular basis there is a chance to you to answer questions. Some questions are open ended requiring explanation, elaboration and more, while some questions are closed and require only either a "Yes" or "No. In some cases, there are questions that do not necessarily need a response, but are simply to be heard (rhetoric queries). According to the structure or question being asked, the answer following must provide the information the questioner is trying to find. Many students fail their exams not because they are dull but because they fail to grasp what is asked of them. Unable to formulate the question correctly will result in an incorrect decision or response. After your presentation, feel satisfied when people ask you questions. It could be an indication that they were engaged in the presentation , and that the event drew interest from others. The way you respond will improve the perception of your audience of your company or boost their confidence in your products or services. As a professional you will need to master how to ask relevant questions and, most importantly, to effectively respond to questions.

Before you start answering a question, be sure you have in your mind what the question is about. There is no harm in getting clarity on what's being asked. Ask politely "I am sorry, I don't seem to get what you're saying What would you like to change?" You'll communicate more effectively in such situations than just ranting about with no clarity or understanding. Keep in mind that the goal of answering questions is to make a positive contribution to the person looking for an answer. Don't be a waste of time. Seek understanding first.

A way to increase the quality of your answers to a question in a relevant and objective manner is if you allow the person asking the question time before asking. A few people take time in describing precisely what are looking for. Answering a question before it has been fully addressed may be rude. Don't assume that you know what direction the question is going hence you are trying to help in getting to the bottom of the matter. If you're on time leave the person "ramble" while taking notes of important aspects. This gives you time to gather your thoughts and determine your best solution to the question. The ability to listen provides you an impressive success rate in the answer to questions.

You have to figure out if you are qualified to answer this inquiry or you are. Can you legally speak regarding the topic (journalists are able to haunt you even if you are not supposed to be to the company's spokesperson)? What should the response be? In the meantime, pauses and periods of silence let you know that you're not just churning through whatever material you have in your mind, but a thought out solution is coming. You can actually prepare someone who is expecting an answer by saying "Let me think ..., Let me know." ..". This means that the person will not sit around thinking you've not heard or you're just not listening,, etc. Thinking about the situation also allows you to formulate statements which you'll not regret for later. You will be able to determine the best method to respond with wisdom without leaving the person with the marks of a wound or fresh ones.
